Welcome to WILKINS TOWNSHIP VFC # 1

After celebrating our 100th year of service to Wilkins Township, we began 2016 focused on expanding our training and certifications. During the first months of the year our members were trained and certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as Basic Vehicle Rescue Technicians. In addition to this we have continued to make additions to our rescue engine with new equipment being added on a regular basis. In the spring, we hit the classroom again, with our members completing Pro Board Certification in Hazardous Material Operations. Summer did not slow us down either, as a group of our firefighters trained and tested to become certified as Firefighter I. This training and certification allowed Wilkins Township VFC #1 to become certified as a participating department with the Pennsylvania Fire Commissioner in our level of training, and we are proud to be the only Wilkins Fire Department to achieve this recognition.

Training did not stop there as classes in many other subjects were attended by our members, accumulating in the highest training and man hours totals Wilkins VFC #1 has ever had. We are proud of the dedication and determination of our members. We will not be stopping as 2017 is just around the corner. Wilkins VFC #1 will be applying for certification with the Pennsylvania Department of Health as a quick response service (QRS). Our crews will begin to assist the citizens of Wilkins and Woodland Hills EMS by responding to life threatening EMS calls.

We appreciate your continued support of the service we provide! Welcome to our website and enjoy your visit!

If you are interested in joining the fight to protect our community and its residents, we could use your help.  Please stop by any Thursday evening.  We have practice starting at 7pm each week.  We are looking for interested parties ages 16 and over.
